Report of the Day 01 of workshop


“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.“

The aim of this workshop is to involve pgt cs to let them learn and then teach python to class 11 students, efficiently. The inauguration session of Workshop began withthe lamp lighting by the dignitaries and followed by wonderful welcome song and beautiful dance presented by the KV Ordnance factory Dumdum students.

After this the Venue director Shri Anil Yadav, Principal, KV Ordinance Factory Dumdum welcomed the dignitaries, resource person and participants with a motivating speech. Then participants of the workshop introduced themselves. Followed by this, the chairman, VMC, ShriS. K. Biswas, AGM, ordnance factory Dum given a welcome message to the participantsfor the workshop. The inauguration session ended with the vote of thanks given by the course director Shri Bhupesh Bhatt, Principal, KV No. 2, Kalaikunda.

After this a there was a short tea break and then Mrs. Madhulika Debnath started the discussion on the overview of new syllabus of computer science of class 11. Which followed with the introduction of python by Mrs. Pournami Sen. After her knowledgeablelecture on the python, the Groups were formed and tasks assigned to the groups by shri Amit kumar malla. And then we took a break of 1 hour of lunch.

After that, the next session started with the guest lecture on python by shri Niladri Motilal which really enhanced our knowledge of python. This was followed by the lab work which broke for 10 minutes for tea and the practice session continued till the end. The first day of workshop was really very engaging and it certainly enhanced our knowledge of python and reduced the confusion about python.

Report of the Day 02 of workshop


Day 2 started with morning assembly in a positive and spiritual ambience. It was consisted of prayer, a beautiful thought,news, report presentation of Day-1 followed by an excellent yoga session by Mr. Gourav Chabra. We did few pranayams, stretching exercises and OM chanting.

After that our course director briefed us about that day’s proceeding.Then we did the review of split up syllabus of Class XI for both IP & CS.It has been decided that Unit I will be taught first and then Unit II as it will be logical to teach the students about fundamentals of computer before jumping to Python Programming. All the participants were very much involved in the discussion and after that we came to a fruitful conclusion.

After that session we all moved to senior secondary computer lab to have a lecture on “Introduction to Mongodb” by Mrs. MadhulikaDebnath. She gave us an overall idea of features of Mongodb, the difference in the syntaxes of Mongodb and MySql Packages. It was really a very informative and knowledge enhancing session.

That followed by a Practical session on how to install mongodb in Windows platform by our Resource person Mr. Amit Kumar Malla. All the participants were deeply involved and everybody did the practical (installation of Mongodb) on their own successfully. After that we’ve a short 15 minute tea break.

Then we’ve a detailed session on working of mongodb database, its commands and syntaxes and connection of MySQL and Python by Mr. SoumikDutta, Data Scientist, ArcvisionTecnologies which was proved to be a very useful session. Mr. Dutta touched each & every aspects of mongodb database and taught us the connection part also. He had cleared all the doubts of participants in a very convincing manner. It was really a very helpful session.

Then we’ve Lab session on mongodb which was instructed and observed by our guest lecturer Mr. Dutta, our resource persons and our course director. All our doubts were cleared by them. The lab session was also a beneficial one.

After the Lunch Break, we’ve a lecture session on Python modules and numPy arrays by Mr. Ayan Kumar Panja, Assistant Professor, Institute of Engineering and Management, Salt Lake, Kolkata. He touched each & every aspects of NumPy arrays and Python Panda and gave us valuable examples on each of them. The session was very informative and useful to us. After the evening tea break, we continued the lecture session by Mr. Panja on Python Pandas.

In this way, the day 2 was though hectic, but fruitful one. That’s all for day’s reporting. Stay positive & happy. Keep learning.

Report of the Day 03 of workshop


The day started with the morning prayer, setting the pace for a fruitful day with calm and positive outlook. It was followed by thought of the day, news,presentation of the previous day’s report and Yoga.

After the morning assembly, venue Principal, Shri Anil Yadav gave his blessings. He stressed upon implementation of the things learnt during the workshop. New teaching methodologies ,  technologies, interactives activities should be incorporated and executed at the vidyalaya level. A discussion on computer application syllabus of the primary and secondary sections was also held and Mr Bhupesh Bhatt suggested that CBSE class 9 and 10 computer application vocational course can be suggested in the vidyalayas which be beneficial to the students. Mr Anil Yadav also pointed out that computer instructors should be provided the primary/secondary syllabus of computer science. The students should be motivated about the computer application subject.

After Shri Anil Yadav, Shri Bupesh Bhatt, Course Director and Principal, KV IIT Kharagpur gave his valuable feedback. Sir briefed about the importance of the blog and the blog was demonstrated by Mr Sachin, PGT CS, KV Singtam, Sikkim. Sir stressed that the continuation of the blog was vital and any relevant activity done towards subject enrichment should be uploaded in the blog, making it a rich and helpful platform for knowledge transfer. Sir also highlighted the importance of time management and its utilization. Through a inspirational video, sir sighted that time waits for no one, and it becomes very much vital that we rise now, utilize our time well and reach our goals. A day - the 24 hours window - is same for everyone - and all successful people utilize this time period very well.

After a tea of 15 mins, the group activity session started and continued till pre-lunch.
